My hands were shaky as I tried to keep hold of the phone.

"Are you still there?", said my friend Julia.

"yeah.... I'm still here.", I said trying to not show the shock in my voice from the news.

"I'm going to get off the phone, now. I have to go to work.", I said almost surprising myself, with the abruptness.

I hung up the phone and took a deep breath.

I had just discovered that one of my best friends had O.D'ed just the night before. This was a shock to many that were close to him. He had been sober for a couple of years at this point.

A few day later, my coworker came up to me and very sheepishly said, "ummmm. This might sound weird, but I have a message for you. Did you have a friend that recently passed?"

"Yes." I said confused. (I'm a pretty private person, so I had not told most of my co-workers the news of my friend.)

Keep in mind, that I hadn't really been sleeping much at this point. There was always something waking me in the night. And I'm normally a very deep sleeper.

My co-worker went on to tell me that this person was keeping her up at night until she passed this message along to me. Mind you, I had no idea this co-worker was a medium. It's not info she just passed around when she met you.

The message: Listen.

Just listen to The Universe/source/God... however you want to call it.

He meant to just listen more to instincts. That the Universe was always speaking to me, guiding me. I just had to listen...really listen.

This message has always stuck with me and I find myself getting reminders to do just that....listen.

Whether you "believe" or not, if you're still reading this email, a part of you does.
